Farewell My Homeland
by Ipek Duben
2007, 5 minutes

Recently I have focused on the plight of refugees and internally displaced persons who are forced to leave their homes and homeland to escape wars, ethnic cleansing and race-faith-gender based systemic discrimination, violence and violation of human rights. Millions have been displaced during the twentieth century inside their countries and crossing borders as refugees. Farewell my homeland  is a record of this universal human tragedy.  The film expresses shock, uncertainty, hope, fear and despair experienced by the millions as they try to cross borders and waiting in camps to survive their condition of dislocation and expectancy in India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Germany, China, Turkey, Rwanda, Mexico, Gaza, Kosova, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and more.
