SPE MA POSTCARD SALE

SPE MA will be hosting a POSTCARD SALE and FUNDRAISER to benefit SPE MA'S Student Scholarship Awards.  We will accept up to 5 original photo postcards per person, no larger than  4"x6" printed on postcard stock, heavy paper, or mounted on light  board.  All postcards will be exhibited for sale during the conference and  will sell for $3 each or 2 for $5.  This is a terrific opportunity to assist in raising funds for our  student scholarship awards!

SPE MA CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

SPE MA will give two scholarships to undergraduate students and two scholarships to graduate students, to help them attend the SPEMA conference at George Mason University on November 11-12, 2005.

 

What the winners get : Each student selected for a scholarship will get $200; a waiver of the conference registration fee; first choice of portfolio reviewer; Sandy Skoglund will give out the scholarships during the conference, and the winners’ images will be shown.

 

Who is eligible: Students must reside or attend school in the Mid-Atlantic region or vicinity of the conference (PA, DE, NJ, MD, DC, WV, or Northern Virginia) and also register to attend the SPEMA conference at George Mason University.

 

When winners will be notified: Winners will be contacted within two weeks of the deadline.

 

How to apply : Send required materials by October 15, 2005 to spema.gmu@gmail.com

 

What to send:

  • Send an email message to spema.gmu@gmail.com that contains your name, address, phone, email address and school/year in the message body. Also include the name and e-mail address of a photo faculty member at your school who can serve as a reference.
  • Attach a one page resume as a Word document with your last name as the title (e.g. smithresume.doc)
  • Attach a 1 paragraph artist’s statement describing your body of work, again as a Word document with your last name as the title (e.g. smithstatement.doc)
  • Attach 4-6 images saved as 72 dpi jpegs, with a maximum dimension of 8 inches. Please title each file with your last name and the number of the image (e.g. smith1.jpg, smith2.jpg …). Work can include photography and photo-based media, including installation.
  • Attach a list of your images, including the number, title, size (of image, not paper or frame), date, and media (e.g. 1. Untitled. 14”x14”, 2004, toned silver gelatin print). Send this as a Word document (e.g. smithlist.doc)
